Well the heliski season is off to a great start with good snow and fun guests as February finished up.

March brings more exciting news and great adventures at VHC!

We are happy to announce the opening of our new Restaurant and Pub in the Valdez Harbor Inn Hotel facility. Formerly, known as the Alaska Bistro. Valdez Heli-Camps in association with Humpy’s Great Alaskan Ale House is opening our newly spruced up facility for Heliski season. Yes, the club house is gone but I am sure all you Heli-Campers will enjoy the new Pub and Restaurant even more with the best view in the World! The Chugach Mountains we love right over the Valdez Harbor… Spectacular!

We are asking all of you to submit your choices for a new name for the facility.

Think, “sea and ski”, VHC and Humpy’s.

You can have a single name for the facility or a name for the pub and a separate name for the restaurant. For the sake of the hotel please limit your submissions to the PG rating. “We have heard some interesting ones for sure already.” None we can repeat…

The winning name will be chosen on April 15th and the winner will receive their choice of a full day of heliskiing or a dinner for two from VHC. Please submit your name choices by email to info@valdezhelicamps.com with the subject line: “New Name for the Pub and Restaurant”.

If you know an adventurous young person, we also want to let you know we are hiring all positions for the restaurant and pub for seasonal winter and summer positions and year round employment! Hosts, servers, front of the house and back of the house positions are available for motivated adventure seekers. You can work hard and play hard at VHC year-round if you have the right stuff!

“Hello, this is Mark. I just spent last weekend skiing with you guys and I just wanted to say what a wonderful time I had and say thanks. From your cook who came out and greeted us the first day we came in, to Natalie that waited on us each evening to all of your amazing guides. It’s the people that really make a difference in who you choose to go out with and as far as I’m concerned, you have it all. From the moment we came in Natalie made us feel welcome with a smile and being so hospitable to all of us to your entire group of guides.

The cat skiing was incredible and the terrain was fantastic. I loved those 3000 foot vertical powder runs. I’ll hopefully be back this season to get some Heli-skiing in and then will return every year from here on out to do more cat and Heli-skiing. All my friends asked how it was and I told them I plan to return to Valdez every year now.

The food was fantastic! I can’t believe I could ski hard for two days and actually gain weight but I appreciated all the food because it was top notch. Don’t change a thing there.

I can’t say enough good things about your operation, so I’ll just come back again and again to show my appreciation and I’ll bring my other friends with me.

“Valdez, Alaska got more than four inches per hour at the height of the snowstorm that began there Monday and ran through the week.

These storms have boosted our snow pack this preseason and we are looking forward to getting out in it with you very soon with the cats and helis! That is,,, once we find where we parked them, of course!!!

Hi Everyone!

This month we are pleased and excited to announce the release of Dan Egan's Wild World of Winter episode featuring Valdez Heli-Camps!

After working for several years with Dan hosting his Alaska ski clinics we were very pleased to host his tv crew last year. Dan brought his Egan Entertainment Network guys and a host of familiar faces to live the VHC experience while documenting the reality of heliskiing in Alaska with VHC for his fall series.

We appreciate his efforts to showcase the experiences you don't see in the movies and help make you all aware of what we do at VHC everyday for you and what is important to consider when choosing a destination and a service provider. Now summer solstice has come and gone in the great state of Alaska and that means one thing winter is on the way!

Have you booked your 2010 Heli or Cat ski trip yet?

On June 21st Valdez Alaska enjoyed nearly 20 hours of daylight and marked the beginning of the count down to an another thrill filled winter ski season in AK!

Holy Smoke! I don't believe we've EVER had the HUGE scramble we had at the end of last month to get bookings in for the next year. We will be glad when our integrated online booking system is completed later this summer!

We thank all of you for the complements we have received about our new website and were glad we could provide the information that has helped you choose VHC in Alaska for this season! Welcome to the family!

So, if you have a group, now is the time to book! Especially, if you require in a private heli charter, since we now have five weeks that the first Heli is busy (either with private or fully booked semi-private weeks). If specific dates are important to you, call us NOW to discuss your options!

Remember a 50% deposit holds your spot. Pay in full by the end of July and save up to $850 per person depending on group size and which trip you choose!

Also, for those guests that have considered the Sound-to-Summit Adventure over the years, this should be the year for you! Valdez Heli-Camps in 2010

Depending upon your group size, you can save UP TO 12% by booking and paying for your 2010 trip by June 30, 2009 with our sliding scale prepayment discount program. That's nearly $1000 off of the 2010 price for a 6 day/7 night All-Inclusive trip.

So this is how it works:

Book with prepayment by June 30, 2009 and save 7% off the advertised rates. Bring a group of 4 and each save an additional 5% percent with your group discount for your 2010 trip...

The other advantage of booking early is choosing your dates - especially with larger groups and private heli charters. We can fit a group of 8 into almost any week in 2010, but privates charters and larger groups (exclusively cat-ski groups in particular) need to get their bids in now for the times they want so we can be sure we have room for you!

...and since many of you are sure to ask: These discounts apply ONLY to our Premier All-Inclusive Heli and Cat Trips. The punch cards are already HEAVILY discounted (and we're not going to raise the prices on them, again, for the fourth season in a row!), so the discount program does not apply. The Economic Stimulus packages (GO BIG and GO SMALL) that so many of you took advantage of this season are now gone, and they were SO HEAVILY DISCOUNTED that this plan would not have applied either.

The Heli Skiing and Cat Ski season is WELL under way in AK as we've just completed an EPIC February where we FLEW 23 out of 28 days @VHC...
..and as you all might assume, our all-inclusive heli ski clients joined-right-in cat skiing during those few times new storms just wouldn't let us fly...
So now March brings us TWO Things for You...
First, for those of you considering a trip to Alaska this season, we still have room through the third week of April for individuals or pairs for just about any dates...
If you're organizing a group of four, and can be a little flexible, we can probably find a way to fit your budget and schedule, but let us know SOON so we can make sure we hold capacity for you!
and Most Importantly:
This is the last 31 days for the ultimate offer for a 2010 trip:
And depending upon your group size, you can save UP TO 20% by booking and paying for your 2010 trip by March 31, 2009. That's at least $1500 off of the 2010 price for a 6 day/7 night All-Inclusive trip.
So this is how it works:
Plan and book your trip with a 50% deposit by the end of March 2009, you can have your 2010 trip at the 2009 rates. Since the rates are going up 5-6 % you save that much AUTOMATICALLY, even if you choose until 90 days before your trip start (next year!) to pay in full.
Additionally, if you also pay the trip IN FULL by March 31, 2009 you can save 10% of the 2009 rates. So now you're at a 15% percent savings for your 2010 trip...

We’re just entering our third week of operations here at Valdez Heli Camps, and the weather has been perfect for heli skiing!

We’ve flown 11 out of the past 14 days, and couldn’t ask for better conditions. Alaska Heliday Wishes to you and yours from Valdez Heli-Camps

Seasons Greetings to you all!

We're 45 days away now from starting up the 2009 season -

We begin Cat Skiing on January 31, and the first Heli day is February 1st.

I just can't believe how fast this fall season has flown by!

We just returned from 6 weeks on the road at various ski and snowboard expos around the country where we enjoyed incredible enthusiasm for Helicopter and Snowcat Skiing in Alaska.

There's plenty of snow here, and with over a 3rd of our annual snowfall already blanketing the Chugach Range, we're all looking forward to an awesome season in Valdez!

We've been doing lots of work this fall, but right after the New Year we'll be pushing hard to get everything in-place for opening weekend of the 2009 season!

If you haven't yet started planning your Valdez trip this season, now's the time to make sure we have space for the timeframe you want to travel!

Todd-the-Sales-Guy will be manning the computer and the phone throughout the holiday season to help you with your plans!

More folks have booked earlier for the 2010 season than we've ever had before. So if you're thinking next season - now's the time!

Welcome to the World's Best Heli Skiing Web Site!

We thought elephants carried their young for a long time (and Matt-the-Owner-Guy has been pacing around here like an expectant Papa) but after 18 months, we finally have launched our New Valdez Heli-Camps Heli Skiing Cat Skiing and Ski Touring Alaska Web Site!! Whew....
